Here at Taos Ski Valley, we know that an appreciation for the mountains runs deeper than skiing and riding.
That’s why we are committed to protecting our local environment by practicing environmentally friendly habits throughout all areas of the resort. Taos Ski Valley is the first major ski resort to become a certified B Corp. This certification helps ensure that Taos Ski Valley meets the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, sustainability, public transparency and legal accountability. Becoming a B Corp also means that our long-held values of inclusion, sustainability, and respect for all are validated. By practicing reverence for our local environment, we hope to promote a more resilient and robust community that celebrates the region’s rich, diverse culture.

Taos partners with the Taos Community Foundation (TCF) to raise funds for the nonprofit’s mission to build a more creative, caring and thriving community. as of 2017, Taos Ski Valley and the Taos Ski Valley foundation have together given more than $250,000 to TCF.

Leed Silver
Certification
The Blake at Taos Ski Valley is Leed (leadership in energy and environmental design) Silver Certified. Only the most sustainable and environmentally-friendy buildings are awarded this distinction by the United States green building council.
US Forest
Service
On the mountain, Taos pursues forest health projects in partnership with the US Forest Service. Recent projects expanded skiable terrain, reduced wildfire risk, and improved the vital Rio Grande watershed.

Golden Eagle Award
Taos Ski Valley received top honors in the 2017 Golden Eagle Awards for environmental excellence. The prestigious award recognized Taos Ski Valley’s dedicated and ongoing efforts to enhance sustainability and environmental efforts throughout the resort.
